BYD Unveils eMax7: Facelifted e6 MPV Coming to India
BYD India is gearing up to launch the facelifted e6 MPV, now branded as the BYD eMax7. The official price announcement for the eMax7 is expected in early October.
Updated Design and Features
The BYD eMax7, a fresh take on the BYD e6, brings updated looks and new features to the Indian market.
This model, previously introduced as the BYD M6 in Indonesia, will carry over several enhancements, though it has been rebranded as the eMax7 in India due to naming conflicts with the M6.
The facelift includes a new headlamp and taillamp design, with additional chrome accents and revised bumpers for a more modern appearance. Inside, the eMax7 boasts a larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, up from the previous 10.1-inch screen.
The center console has been updated with dual wireless charging pads, new switchgear, and a fresh drive selector lever.
The steering wheel has been redesigned, while the instrument cluster retains its analogue dials.
Powertrain and Specifications
In terms of performance, the eMax7 will offer similar powertrain options to those available in Indonesia.
The vehicle will feature two battery options: a 55.4kWh battery with a 420km range and a 71.8kWh battery with a 530km range.
The smaller battery produces 163hp, while the larger one delivers 204hp, both with 310Nm of torque.
This represents a notable increase from the current model’s 95hp and 180Nm.
In India, the e6 already comes with the 71.8kWh battery, which is expected to continue with the eMax7.
The larger battery’s range is slightly improved by 8km, although it’s unclear if the smaller battery will be available in the Indian market.
Currently, the BYD e6 is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
The updated eMax7 is anticipated to come with a modest price increase. As an electric MPV, it has no direct competitors in its segment.
